About
Young Americans is the ninth studio album by David Bowie, released on RCA Records in 1975. It reached number two on the UK Albums Chart and marked a dramatic stylistic departure into ‘plastic soul’, recorded in Philadelphia with a host of session musicians including a young Luther Vandross. The album spawned Bowie’s first US number-one single with ‘Fame’, co-written with John Lennon.
