About Sparks

Sparks are an American art-pop duo formed by brothers Ron and Russell Mael in Los Angeles. They combine witty, literary songwriting, Russell’s theatrical vocals and Ron’s deadpan keyboard presence with a restless appetite for reinvention, from “This Town Ain’t Big Enough for Both of Us” and Giorgio Moroder-era synth-pop to Lil’ Beethoven, FFS, The Girl Is Crying in Her Latte and MAD!. Their film work on Annette and the documentary The Sparks Brothers have helped introduce their singular catalogue to new listeners.
