About Skids
Skids formed in Dunfermline in 1977 around Richard Jobson, Stuart Adamson, William Simpson and Thomas Kellichan. Their music pushed beyond punk’s economy through Jobson’s declamatory vocals and Adamson’s distinctive guitar writing, creating a sound that could be urgent, martial and unexpectedly expansive.

“Into the Valley” became their defining hit, while albums including Scared to Dance and The Absolute Game established a broader catalogue. Adamson later went on to form Big Country, while Skids subsequently returned to recording and live performance with Jobson at the centre of the band.
