About Jim Morrison

Jim Morrison (1943–1971) was an American singer, lyricist and poet best known as the lead vocalist of the Doors. With Ray Manzarek, Robby Krieger and John Densmore, he helped give the Los Angeles band its mix of blues, psychedelia and theatre. His spoken-word recordings reveal the same fascination with image, rhythm and performance; portions were later paired with music by the surviving Doors on An American Prayer.
