About Hipsway

Hipsway formed in Glasgow in the mid-1980s, bringing together Grahame Skinner’s soulful vocals with crisp guitar, prominent bass and polished pop arrangements. Their sound sat comfortably between new wave, soul and the sophisticated pop emerging from Scotland during the period.

Their self-titled debut produced “The Honeythief”, the song most closely associated with the band, while deeper catalogue material shows the same rhythmic confidence beyond the hit. “Tinder”, featured in Show #4, comes from that first album and highlights the understated groove at the centre of Hipsway’s sound.
