Electric Light Orchestra are an English rock group formed in Birmingham in 1970 by Jeff Lynne, Roy Wood and Bev Bevan. ELO fused rock songwriting with orchestral colour and futuristic pop production, producing a long run of singles and albums that made Lynne’s melodic, studio-rich approach instantly recognisable.
