About Cocteau Twins
Cocteau Twins formed in Grangemouth in 1979, with guitarist Robin Guthrie and bassist Will Heggie joined by vocalist Elizabeth Fraser; Simon Raymonde became the third member after Heggie’s departure. Across records for 4AD, the trio transformed layered guitar effects, drum machines and Fraser’s elastic voice into a language that helped define dream pop. The 1985 EP Tiny Dynamine and albums such as Treasure and Heaven or Las Vegas show that sound continually opening out. The band ended in 1997.
