About Angelfish

Angelfish were an Edinburgh alternative rock group built around Shirley Manson with Martin Metcalfe, Fin Wilson and Derek Kelly, emerging from the orbit of Goodbye Mr Mackenzie in the early 1990s. The project gave Manson a lead-vocal role while retaining the darker guitar textures and dramatic edge shared with the musicians’ earlier work.

Their self-titled 1994 album was the group’s only full-length release. “Suffocate Me”, featured in Show #4, became especially significant after its video brought Manson to the attention of the musicians who were forming Garbage, linking Angelfish’s brief catalogue to the next stage of her career.
